What Happened in the Hyderabad Terrorism Case

Recently, the Gujarat Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) arrested a man from Hyderabad, accused of preparing Ricin, a deadly poison.
The main accused, Dr. Syed Ahmed Mohiuddin, studied Unani medicine and MBBS in China. He was reportedly connected to ISIS-K, the Islamic State’s Khorasan branch operating near Pakistan and Afghanistan.

According to Gujarat ATS, Dr. Syed and his associates Azad Suleman Sheikh, Mohammed Suhail, and Mohammed Saleem  planned to use Ricin in large-scale terror attacks in Gujarat, Delhi, and Lucknow.

How Gujarat ATS Exposed the Terror Plot

ATS officials revealed that the Hyderabad doctor had been manufacturing Ricin under the guise of making castor oil.
During a raid on a car near the Adalaj Toll Plaza on the Ahmedabad-Maosana Highway, ATS officers found four litres of castor oil, which can be used to create the toxic compound.

Dr. Syed reportedly collected funds and recruited others through online channels. His Instagram account and social media chats show that he was in contact with extremist handlers.

The ATS investigation also revealed that his handler, Abu Khadija, instructed him to prepare the poison and attack Indian cities.

Who Is Dr. Syed Ahmed Mohiuddin?

Dr. Syed, originally from Khammam, settled in Toli Chowki, Hyderabad.
He ran a shawarma centre near Karwan and was also involved in real estate business in Rajendranagar.
Through online extremist propaganda, he got drawn into the ISIS ideology, eventually joining ISIS-K.

He was arrested under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA) and is currently in ATS custody till November 17.
